Claudia Guidolin and Alain Lamoureux are two of the volunteers we are recognizing this year for National Volunteer Week.
Every April during National Volunteer Week, Canadians take the opportunity to recognize and thank millions of volunteers for their contributions, from across the country. This year, National Volunteer Week will be celebrated April 18-24.
Here at the Cancer Foundation volunteers come from every walk of life, age and group, and all are committed to a common purpose of enhancing local cancer survivorship. From volunteers in events and fundraising to Cancer Coaching and Board governance, our volunteers share skills, inspire others, deliver comfort, and strengthen community. We are extremely grateful to and proud of all of them. Thank you!
This spring we’re delighted to honour three such notable individuals with the Foundation’s Volunteer Champion Award: for 2020, we recognize the contributions of loyal, enthusiastic event volunteers Claudia Guidolin and Alain Lamoureux; and for 2021, we applaud the contributions of Ella Forbes-Chilibeck, a popular, returning guest speaker in the Cancer Coaching program Rebalancing Life and Work After Cancer.
As a lawyer specializing in employment, human rights and disability-related issues, Ella has shared her expertise with Cancer Coaching clients for nearly 10 years. Claudia and Alain have been involved with the Foundation for more than 5 years, from fundraising events, through holiday cocktails, to donor thank you calls! We look forward to honouring them at a special virtual ceremony in the upcoming National Volunteer Week.
The Cancer Foundation recognizes the power of people and organizations working together with care and compassion. Together we can bring about monumental change, so thank you to all of our volunteers and congratulations to Claudia Guidolin, Alain Lamoureux and Ella Forbes-Chilibeck!
