February 4, 2025: The Ottawa Cancer Foundation is proud to announce the addition of local media veteran Angie Poirier as its new Community Ambassador. In light of her personal journey as the mother of an 8-year-old boy battling a rare form of cancer, Angie brings a deeply personal perspective to the Foundation’s efforts to raise awareness and funding to support the cancer community. Her son, Nash Cote, was diagnosed with a rare cancer, a journey that has shaped her into a fierce advocate for cancer awareness and the need for support outside of the hospital setting.

“It’s an honour to partner with The Ottawa Cancer Foundation and play a role in the incredible work being done to support families affected by cancer, like us,” says Angie Poirier. “As a mother who has lived through the trials of cancer with my son, I understand how crucial it is to have access to the services and resources The Ottawa Cancer Foundation provides. I’m excited to use my voice to help support their work. If you’re able to contribute, please consider supporting our vital work on World Cancer Day.”
