Anaïs Vosky, Ottawa Citizen: Kids were out in force in a number of communities across the capital Saturday selling sweet lemonade and tasty baked goods (in some locations) to raise money for the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.
“So far there have been a lot of people. I like doing this, it’s fun,” said seven-year-old Talan Adams at a stand in St. Laurent.
The one-day fundraiser aims to get kids to build and host stands in their neighbourhoods in order to raise funds and awareness for cancer care in their local communities. This year, stands popped up in neighbourhoods around Orléans, Metcalfe, Stittsville, Barrhaven, Carp, Kanata, Westboro, and many more.
