Megan Shaw, CTV News: Hundreds kicked off this Father’s Day by taking part in the Ultimate Run for Men’s Cancers.

The annual event, which aims to raise funds and awareness for men’s cancers, took place Sunday morning at the Canadian Aviation and Space Museum. The event featured a 2km walk, a 5km run or walk and 10 km run.

‘People raise 50 dollars, 100 dollars, five-thousand dollars and it all comes together and makes a huge difference for people who have lives touched by cancer,’ said Linda Eagen, the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation President.

This year’s run raised $222,731 for cancer care and research. It has raised close to $4 million since it began 17 years ago.
